Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a bowl mix together the bread cubes, maple sugar and apple juice. |

Arrange the apples slices at the bottom of a buttered cake pan, sprinkle with the maple sugar, and cover with the bread mixture and set aside. |

In a bowl of an electric mixer, beat the eggs and sugar until they are pale. Add the butter, milk, flour, baking powder, ground almonds and a pinch
of salt; mix well. Turn this mixture onto the bread cubes and bake for about 45 minutes. |

Serve with Maple syrup or Maple custard. |
